jason jaffery
Chief Development Officer
Throughout his thirty-year career in philanthropy and non-profit public service, Jason Jaffery has applied his energy and leadership skills at mission-driven organizations dedicated to long-term social change.
He has been privileged to work on advancing causes such as providing housing for people with HIV and AIDS, increasing access to emergency food for economically disadvantaged families, and free medical care in at-risk communities. For the past 17 years, Jason has dedicated his work in fundraising to the protection of constitutional right and the democratic process at such organizations as the ACLU of Ohio, Southern Poverty Law Center, and the Campaign Legal Center. He believes that philanthropy is a form of activism, and works with organizations and individuals, in both a professional capacity and as a volunteer, to fully realize their fundraising and giving as a pathway for social change.
His personal motivation is the preservation and protection of human and animal dignity through social and economic justice. He strives to inspire people to work together as a community to address core social issues.
In addition to his work as a philanthropic professional, Jason is an artist whose works have shown in galleries in Washington DC and New York City, as well as private collections. He lives in Washington DC with his wife Amanda Shaffer, and their cats Terry Pratchett Shaffer-Jaffery and Georgia Hubley Shaffer-Jaffery.
