Ariel Zhang

Ariel Zhang is the Vice President of National Programs at Humane Rescue Alliance. Ariel leads the WayStation, HRA’s best-in-class animal relocation program.

Her most recent role was Chief Strategy Officer at The Animal Foundation, the largest single-site shelter seeing an average of 25,000 animals a year. She led the effort to grow the organization from a municipal shelter to a community support resource by leading organizational strategy, IT teams, and acted as the interim Chief Operating Officer. She also serves on the steering committee for Maddie’s Fund.

Previously, she worked to implement global technology initiatives for Fortune 100 companies across a variety of industries. She has also consulted with animal welfare, education, and food insecurity nonprofits on organizational strategy.

Ariel lives with her husband, her dog, Cricket, and her betta fish, Bagel. She enjoys exploring cultures through authentic cooking, rock climbing, and hiking.
