Adrienne carson
Adrienne Carson is the Vice President of Training and Behavior at the Humane Rescue Alliance. Adrienne leads HRA’s training and behavior programs, which serve the Washington, D.C. and northern New Jersey metropolitan areas.
Adrienne has a rich 25-year history as a dog trainer and has spent 20 of those years at our St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in Madison, New Jersey. She joined St. Hubert’s in 2002 as a staff trainer and quickly rose to become a behavior consultant, helping to keep countless pets in homes with families who already love them by addressing behavior concerns.
Interested in exploring alternative ways to help dogs, she began her own training school, offering drop-off day training and board and train services in central New Jersey. Word of mouth spread to shelters and rescues who also used her services. She has deployed with the ASPCA as a behavior lead during dogfighting rescue cases, and has been involved with the removal of and care for hundreds of animals from cruel conditions.
In 2017, Adrienne returned to lead the behavior team at St. Hubert’s, first as a consultant and then as the Director of Training and Behavior. In that role, she oversaw the operations of our large public training facility and our thriving doggie day care.
Adrienne is certified as a CPDT-KA through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers and as a behavior consultant through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. Adrienne is working on her Master’s Degree in Animal Behavior and Welfare so she can continue to expand her knowledge and share her education and experience with others.
Adrienne lives with her husband, Eric, three dogs, and four cats. She loves sitting outside watching the many species of birds that visit her feeders and looks forward to daily appearances from red squirrels and chipmunks in the wood pile.
