PUPPY AND BEGINNER TRAINING CLASSES

St. Hubert’s puppy and beginner training classes establish an important foundation in the socialization and training of your dog.

Classes are designed to strengthen the human-animal bond by teaching both you and your dog how to successfully communicate with one another.

Your dog will also learn how to interact with unfamiliar people and dogs in a safe way.


PUPPY CLASSES


Puppy Kindergarten

Work on socialization skills while spending some quality bonding time with your puppy in a safe environment.

  • Course Length: One hour a week for six weeks

    Age: Eight weeks to 18 weeks (or 4.5 months) when the course begins. If your dog is over 18 weeks, please register for a basic training class.

    Price: $259

    PLEASE NOTE: The first week of class is an orientation. We ask that you not bring your dog to the orientation so the instructor can have your undivided attention as they go over what you can expect from the class. 

    Families are welcomed to attend, but only one person may handle at a time. Minimum age for handlers is 14, and a parent must remain in the classroom.

    Young children MUST be supervised by an adult and be able to remain seated for their own safety and the safety of the dogs.

  • This 6-week course is the best possible way to get your puppy started on the right track.

    Work on socialization skills while spending some quality bonding time with your puppy in a safe environment.

    Our professional trainers will show you how to teach your newest family member the important basics such as sit, down, come, and loose leash walking as well as give you tips on house training, household manners, puppy mouthing and more! 

  • All puppies must have their age appropriate vaccinations (distemper, and parvo) to participate in class. Proof of vaccination is required. Rabies vaccination is not required for puppies under five months old.

Puppy Social Group Class

Puppy Social Playgroups

Understand and learn your puppy’s play style and body language while interacting in a socially controlled environment with other puppies

  • Course Length: 45 minute single session

    Age: Eight weeks to 18 weeks (or 4.5 months) when the course begins.

    Price: $30

    Note: Families are welcome to attend, but only one person may handle at a time.

    Minimum age for handlers is 14, and a parent must remain in the classroom.

    Young children MUST be supervised by an adult and be able to remain seated for their own safety and the safety of the dogs.

  • This 45 minute single session will help you understand and learn your puppy’s play style and body language while interacting in a socially controlled environment with other puppies.

    The class will have intermittent play sessions with time to ask the trainer questions. You attend the class with your puppy.

    Please note: there will be a potty break halfway through the session.

    This class it open to anyone that has a puppy and is a supplemental class and meant to be taken along with puppy kindergarten or can be taken while you wait for your puppy class to begin.

  • All puppies must have their age appropriate vaccinations. We know your puppy receives a series of vaccinations (distemper, and parvo).

    Your puppy must be current with its age appropriate series to participate in this class.

    Proof of vaccination is required. Rabies vaccination is not required for puppies under five months old.


BASIC TRAINING CLASSES


Basic Training Part One

We will focus on building skills such as sit, down, stay, here, wait, leave-it, and drop-it.

  • Course Length: One hour a week for six weeks

    Age: Dogs 4.5 months and older or have completed Puppy Kindergarten

    Price: $249

    Minimum age for handlers is 14, and a parent must remain in the classroom.

    Young children MUST be supervised by an adult and be able to remain seated for their own safety and the safety of the dogs.

  • This is part one of a two-part basic training course. In this class, you and your dog will build a solid foundation of behavioral skills.

    Your dog will learn how to work around distractions and you will learn how to effectively communicate with your dog.

    We will focus on building skills such as sit, down, stay, here, wait, leave-it, and drop-it.

    This class is for all dogs, whether your dog is a total beginner or has had some training.

  • All puppies must have their age appropriate vaccinations (distemper, and parvo) to participate in class.

    Proof of vaccination is required. Rabies vaccination is not required for puppies under five months old.


Basic Training Part Two


Work on behaviors such as: stay until released, stop pulling on leash, come immediately when called, stop instantly on command, and more.

  • Course Length: One hour a week for six weeks

    Age: Dogs five months and older or have completed Puppy Kindergarten

    Price: $249

    Note: Families are welcome to attend, but only one person may handle at a time.

    Minimum age for handlers is 14, and a parent must remain in the classroom.

    Young children MUST be supervised by an adult and be able to remain seated for their own safety and the safety of the dogs.

  • This class is the second half of the Basic Training course. There is no orientation, so you will bring your dog to the first class.

    This course will cover important skills that will help your dog become reliable even when distractions are present.

    Work on behaviors such as: stay until released, stop pulling on leash, come immediately when called, stop instantly on command, and more.

  • Requisites: Basic Training Part One

    Requirements: All puppies must have their age appropriate vaccinations (distemper, and parvo) to participate in class. Proof of vaccination is required. Rabies vaccination is not required for puppies under five months old.
