St. Hubert’s’ temporary crisis care enables pet parents to keep their animals during times of hardship by offering short-term housing for those experiencing emergencies or other life challenges, including:

  • Being admitted for substance abuse rehabilitation

  • Becoming homeless (after a fire, flood, job loss, or other situation)

  • Medical emergencies

Accidents happen. So do job losses, illnesses, natural disasters, a pandemic, obstacles no one can predict. That’s why we have planted our flag at the intersection of animal welfare and social services, to help animals by supporting the people who love them.

Safe Haven Program

In homes where there is domestic violence, not only are people at risk; animals are often targeted as well. In many cases, victims stay in abusive relationships for fear of leaving their pets.

St. Hubert’s Safe Haven program, in collaboration with human service agencies assisting victims of domestic violence and their children, enables victims to leave abusive relationships while ensuring that their animals remain safe from harm as well.
During the animal’s stay with us, all medical treatments (including neutering services) will be provided at no cost to the client. In situations where reunification may not be possible, we will work with pet parents to find the best option for the future of these much-loved family members.
